Cinderella Castle Returns to Original Color Scheme

Great news for those who loved the old look of the castle before the 50th anniversary update!

A fairy-tale castle with blue spires under a clear sky. A white horse-drawn carriage in front, surrounded by lush greenery. Magical mood. This is the current concept art for the updated Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World.

Nostalgia will be hitting hard for those that loved the “old” color scheme of Cinderella Castle at the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. Disney has just announced the change during the “Beyond the Spires: An Insider Look at Disney Castles” at this year’s Destination D23 event. The castle will return to a color scheme reminiscent of the original castle.

Returning are the blues, grays, creams, and accents of gold to set it apart from the other Disney castles. Disney originally chose those colors to make the castle shimmer and shine in the bright Florida sunshine.

We’re just as surprised as you are with this announcement with the change of colors!

What are your thoughts about this change to Cinderella Castle as it returns to it’s original color scheme?
