Savor a culinary adventure when dining at this Discovery Island signature dining location.

When booking your Walt Disney World dining reservations, the signature dining options will either draw you in or intimidate. Located at Disney's Animal Kingdom, Tiffins provides a fine dining a la Carte menu that features African, Asian and Latin flavors. If you have not dined at Tiffins, as this was my first visit, you will learn it’s a bit of an experience. All I heard is that it’s pricey with good food. Not wrong, but there is more to this place.

You are welcomed into a bright vestibule with a world map carving in the wall behind the main hosting desk. The staff seems to be excited to work in this restaurant because they are happy to tell you about all the art that fills this place. This is a massive art exhibit to go with a delicious meal.

There are sketchbooks from Imagineers’ adventures. Artifacts from Africa, India, and plenty in between. They encourage you to visit both dining rooms to see the many items on display. The dining area we sat in had totems from when the park first opened that were hand-carved by a family. When they updated the park, they placed them in the restaurant. Another wall looks like colorful quilts. They aren’t quilts but costumes from the Rivers of Light show that closed out. The other two walls are metal arts of bugs, butterflies, and sea creatures.
My amazing waiter came by, and I forgot to look at the menu. I was aiming for the burger so many have spoken of; but it was hot, so I was not as hungry. I asked the server for a recommendation of a refreshing nonalcoholic beverage and a light meal. Providing some of my likes and dislikes, of course. A ginger mango beverage and some soft cilantro flatbread with yogurt sauce appeared. Followed by fried cauliflower in an orange sauce with a dish of carrots covered in herbs and goat cheese.
The drink was refreshing and very enjoyable. The bread was soft, a bit different for me, and was just enough to enjoy. Fried cauliflower was just enough for texture, with the inside tender. The sauce was similar to orange chicken, a hint of warmth and good flavor. The carrots were sweet, herby, and a hint of saltiness from the goat cheese. Safe to say, the carrots were a favorite for me. I left satisfyingly full and mulling the flavors. I look forward to visiting again to try some other dishes and admire more of the art displays.

Great blog! Tifffins is a sleeper, for sure. When I couldn’t get a spot at Nomad Lounge last week I decided top pop over to Tiffins to try for a walk up spot. They were eager to accommodate me and I I had a great light lunch (the ahi tuna and dumpling appetizer).
