Tron Lightcycle / Run is quite a new attraction at Disney's Magic Kingdom, but did you know that this isn't the original location for this ride?
Tron Lightcycle / Run is at both Walt Disney World and Shanghai Disneyland. The attraction in Shanghai opened with the park on June 16, 2016 and is called Tron Lightcycle Power Run. My husband and I were able to ride it in January of 2017.

My husband and I were also able to talk to one of the Imagineers for this ride, during our Highway in the Sky Dine Around event at Walt Disney World. It was interesting to hear about the issues he and his team were having to get the ride synchronized for the launch of the bikes. Also, he told us of the struggles to get the ride up and running before the June opening.
Unfortunately, this Highway in the Sky Dine Around event is no longer available. This event started at the Contemporary with drinks, then went on the monorail to the Polynesian for more drinks and appetizers. Next stop was the Grand Floridian for a cheese platter from the Garden View Lounge, next was Citricos for the main course. After the main course, we went back to Contemporary to have drinks and desserts while watching the fireworks from a private viewing area. This event was $170.00 per person. We went in August of 2017. I’m not sure how long this event took place, but I don’t remember it coming back after the pandemic in 2020.

Walt Disney World’s Tron officially opened on April 4, 2023. The rides are basically the same. The only difference I can remember is that Shanghai Disneyland’s lockers were outside the ride. Magic Kingdom has the lockers inside the queue building. I prefer this instead of having them outside. Both have an awesome take-off, and the picture is during the launch of both of the rides. It is a fantastic ride, I wish it was longer though, at around just 60 seconds ride duration. Tron is now a regular queue; you also can purchase a single ride lighting lane for around $21.00. The ride features a motorbike design, and the coaster reaches a maximum speed of 60 mph. Magic Kingdom has a regular sit-down section in the back of the ride for persons with disabilities too. I don’t remember Shanghai having this. Both rides are located in the Tomorrowland area of the respective parks. This ride is in my top five favorite rides at DisneyWorld.

Have you ridden this fast-paced, thrilling ride? If not, do you plan to do so? Also, were you able to do the Highway In The Sky Dine Around event? We really enjoyed it and wish they would bring it back.
I do like this ride, but you blink and it's over. I don't know why they would make such a short ride. It's almost disappointing. I couldn't justify waiting in a line for this.
