You may not know him, but you know his legendary voice
The Disney community has lost yet another voice actor this week. Pete Renaday, a Disney voice actor, passes away at the age of 89. He was also known as Pierre Renoudet.
You’ll know his voice from many different Walt Disney World attractions such as Henry and Max from the original Country Bear Jamboree; the voice of Abraham Lincoln in the Hall of Presidents, and Captain Nemo from the now long-closed 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. He’s also contributed his voice to the Mark Twain Riverboat and the Tomorrowland Transit Authority. He also lent his voice to several characters in the movies The Aristocrats, The Rescuers, and The Black Cauldron.
For non-Disney audiences growing up in the 1980s he voiced Splinter in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoons. Some of his other non-Disney voice credits include Scooby-Do and Scrappy-Doo, Alvin & The Chipmunks, The Transformers, The Real Ghostbusters, and Batman: The Animated Series. His career spanned six decades and included nearly 200 films and TV shows.
