Names Revealed for New Lions at Animal Kingdom
Yesterday was a big day for Animal Kingdom as the new lion pride made their debut to the public on Kilimanjaro Safaris. We didn't know much about them yesterday but today, Disney have revealed more.
Welcome to the Disney family Mshango, Zahara and Neema! These young lions have been showing their playful spirits to guest enjoying a ride on Kilimanjaro Safaris.
While this new pride are siblings, in the future they could take part in a breeding programme with other prices as part of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums' Species Survival Plan. So other new arrivals may be in store in the future!
Disney are also relaunching Protect the Pride conservation campaign to support Wildlife Conservation Network's Lion Recovery Fund. The aim is to double the population of lions in Africa by 2050. You can learn more about Protect the Pride on the Disney website.
Regardless of what the future has in store for these lions, it's an exciting time at Animal Kingdom.
