Honoring Walt Disney Legacy Award Recipient Esteban Carrillo!

From the heart of Mexico in World Showcase to the world, his legacy plays on.


Inmenso congratulations to Esteban Carrillo! Esteban is the co-founder and director of Mariachi Cobre at EPCOT and has received the prestigious Walt Disney Legacy Award! The Walt Disney Legacy Award is a special, peer-nominated honor that celebrates Cast Members who embody Walt’s enduring values to Dream, Create, and Inspire.


Esteban’s Disney journey began back in 1968. He performed at Disneyland as part of a youth mariachi ensemble. Since EPCOT’s opening day, he has shared his incredible talent and passion with guests from around the world through music and genuine kindness. For over forty years, Esteban has been a cherished presence in the World Showcase at the Mexican Pavillion.


Esteban, a member of Disney’s Mariachi Cobre, smiles proudly while holding a silver trumpet during a performance. He wears a traditional white mariachi shirt with red bowtie and olive-green pants with embroidered trim. To the left, an image overlay displays the Walt Disney Legacy Award logo with the words “dream. create. inspire.” and a blue name tag reading “Esteban” featuring the Legacy pin.
