An elevated adults-only lounge with an exclusive fireworks experience.

Imagine my surprise, when I learned that my June solo trip coincided with the opening of GEO-82 Bar and Lounge at Epcot! As soon as the menus were released and reservation date was announced, it was my mission to book a reservation.  I was logged into the My Disney Experience app at 5:45am EST on the day reservations opened, and like I was trying for a virtual queue, I used the world clock (with second timer) to refresh at exactly 5:59 am and was able to quickly book for 2pm on my arrival day, June 6th.  Testing my luck, I headed over to the Enchanting Extras reservation site to see if, by chance, a seat for GEO-82’s Fireworks Experience was available during my trip as well. It was! I booked that for 8pm on the same night.  The cost of this experience is $179 plus tax, which is pre-paid.  Tipping your server on the night of the experience is not included.

About GEO-82

GEO-82 is a sophisticated, reservation-only hideaway at Epcot for guests aged 21+, where you can sample global culinary artistry through small plates and craft cocktails. Its name is a nod to Epcot’s opening year (1982) and the iconic geodesic dome that houses the Spaceship Earth ride.  Following VIP and cast member previews, it opened on 6/4/25, fully booked for the next 60 days. Of note, as I saw during my visit and as noted on Disney’s website, there is no walk-up waitlist.  Reservations are required and space is extremely limited.  If reservations aren’t available for your dates, don’t despair.  Check for reservations daily, or use a reservation app.  People do cancel, so last-minute spots open up.

GEO-82 Daytime

GEO-82 has a bit of a speakeasy vibe in that there is no external sign of its existence.  You can walk all the way around Spaceship Earth and have no idea that it’s there.  Even after asking two cast members, their directions left me wandering aimlessly for at least 5-10 minutes.  Finally, I realized that the EXITS for Spaceship Earth are how you access GEO-82.  Standing on the park side of Spaceship Earth facing the entrance to the park, use the left exit at the “bubblegum wall” and once inside you’ll see the entrance to GEO-82 on the left.

Crafting a Brown Butter Old Fashioned

Once inside and checked in, you make your way upstairs where you’re greeted by a host or hostess who offers a “tranquillity scented cold towel”.  Coming in from the heat and humidity, this luxurious touch instantly calms and soothes, setting you up for the elevated experience ahead.  Once seated, your server will explain the menu, a small plate format with global influences and perfect craft cocktail pairings.  I chose the Jumbo Lump Crab Gateau with Siberian Caviar ($25) accompanied by their instantly popular Brown Butter Old Fashioned ($28) – made with brown butter infused bourbon and crowned with branded ice.  Fellow WDWAO group members Mark & Linda, on their first visit, enjoyed Truffled Ahi Tuna ($23), Charcuterie Board ($29), wine, and the Strawberry & Coconut ‘Right Hand’ cocktail ($25).

The adult-only experience, while elevated, is still a place where you can come as you are in park attire.  You’ll meet fellow foodies and drink aficionados and be attentively served by Disney’s most experienced bartenders and servers.  Whilst the bar does feature elaborate craft cocktails, they also have a full bar. The price tag may be the only thing keeping you from spending hours upon hours there!

GEO-82 Fireworks Experience

The fireworks experience provides you with perfectly positioned seating for Epcot’s Luminous The Symphony of Us nighttime fireworks spectacular.

Your server greets you with a bottle of Canard-Duchene Cuvee Leonie Champagne, which is kept in an ice bucket near your table throughout the night, to refill your glass while you sip and savor a tower of savory bites before and during fireworks.  Event-exclusive cocktails are also included, or (for an added charge) you can order drinks and food from the menu.

On the featured treat tower, the pimento cheese macarons were a perfect sweet/savory pairing.  The deviled eggs accented with duck prosciutto and caper berries are a unique twist on an old favorite. My favorite bite on the whole tower was the goat cheese and cranberry bread from the charcuterie. Sweet pickles, made with cucumbers from The Land greenhouses were also standouts.  For the fireworks, you’re presented with a plate of sweets including chocolate dipped strawberries trimmed with gold leaf.

The view of fireworks is spectacular.  Lights are dimmed, the music is piped in, and you’re able to see the show with sweeping views across Epcot’s World Showcase.  This (almost 180 degree) vantage point is unmatched and gives you the ability to see the show like you never have before.

Golden fireworks explode in a dark sky, above silhouetted trees and colorful lights, creating a celebratory atmosphere. This is the view of Luminous The Symphony of Us Night Time Show at Disney's Epcot. This view is from the new lounge, Geo 82.

Is GEO-82 for you?

Notice I didn’t ask, “Is GEO-82 worth it”.  “Worth it” is a relative term so only you can decide that.  If you’re a fan of craft cocktails and adventuresome food, you’ll probably love GEO-82.  If not, there are other great places for food and drinks at Epcot.

If you do choose to visit GEO-82 the amount of times you go and the time you spend there will be decided by your budget. Reservation dependent, I will probably visit every time I go to Epcot.  For the fireworks experience, I thought it was a great value compared to any of the Magic Kingdom fireworks viewing dessert parties and to The Contemporary’s Celebration at the Top.   The small size, and elevated food/drink offerings are well worth the difference in price.  I can see it being a coveted reservation to celebrate special occasions.

Whether you choose a Lounge visit, or splurge on the fireworks experience, GEO-82 is a space unlike anything offered before at Walt Disney World. Will it be so successful that Disney considers creating more adult-only experiences and places? Only time will tell!

Have you been to GEO-82? Do you plan to go there on your next Disney vacation?

Great blog Ruth. Really enjoyed your insights. I will definitely try to get a reservation for our trip later this year, although the Fireworks Experience will have to wait for this trip. We are saving for our wedding and there are other things on my splurge list first lol

I have a reservation in August for the lounge. The cost has me questioning but I am looking forward to it.
