Disney Reimagines Moderate Resort Room Categories for 2026

Updated: Apr 24

Room category changes coming to Caribbean Beach, Coronado Springs, and Port Orleans Resorts

Moderate Resort Room Categories To Change At The Caribbean's Resort in 2026

Beginning in 2026, Walt Disney World will streamline room categories at its Moderate Resorts, introducing a simplified system to enhance the guest booking experience. Caribbean Beach Resort, Coronado Springs Resort, and both Port Orleans locations—French Quarter and Riverside—will adopt three main room types: Standard Room, Preferred Room, and King Bed Room.

The change replaces the previous, more detailed classifications based on views, such as “garden” or “river,” with a focus on room location and view. Disney notes that while this streamlining is designed to reduce confusion, guests will still be able to request specific views or building locations, though these requests remain subject to availability. Unique offerings like the Royal Guest Rooms at Port Orleans Riverside will stay intact, preserving a touch of storytelling magic for those who seek it.
