A Monster Sized Project Coming To Disney's Hollywood Studios

A first look at the massive Monsters Inc. roller coaster set to break ground at Hollywood Studios.

The Central Florida Tourism Oversight District has posted an initial look at how Walt Disney World will integrate the coming Monsters Inc. door vault inspired roller coaster. Estimated at over 103,000 square-feet, this Mike and Sulley adventure through Monsters Incorporated will be the largest attraction building at Disney's Hollywood Studios. For some perspective, Rise of the Resistance is only 92,000 square-feet The only attraction with a larger footprint is the EPCOT fan favorite, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.

This large scale attraction has already started to take over the Muppet Courtyard area as Muppet*Vision 3D played it's final show on June 7th. This will be the first suspended roller coaster for Walt Disney World and the first Monster's Inc. ride experience in the Florida Parks. The Magic Kingdom's Tomorrowland is home to Mike's Laugh floor that currently entertains guests with a comical performance from the loveable monster himself.
