More Character Meeting Opportunities Coming To Walt Disney World

Updated meet and greets and character appearances are coming soon!

Disney Parks Blog just dropped some seriously fun character news! For those Disney Resort guests who are early risers you’ll be able to meet the characters during Early Entry at Disney’s participating theme parks.

Goofy will also be participating in some fun and games at CommuniCore Hall this summer at EPCOT. Details are sparse but our news team will bring you the latest when we have it.

Guests staying at Art of Animation, Pop Century, Caribbean Beach, and Wilderness Lodge will also be able to take part in character meet and greets right at their hotel! Characters will appear at set times to help make your stay more magical!

This offer is only for EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom and for only one theme park per day.

Space Rangers Get Ready! Updates Are Coming To Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin!
Updated ride vehicles, a new scene, and more coming in 2026.

Disney Parks Blog just dropped some exciting info about upcoming changes to Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin at the Magic Kingdom. You’ll be greeted by a new robot named Buddy which was created in collaboration with Walt Disney Imagineering and Pixar Animation Studios. As part of the Star Command team guests will be briefed about their mission on Space Ranger Spin and be able to practice on new interactive targets before attempting to defeat Evil Emperor Zurg.
Ride vehicles will also be getting updated too. New video monitors will be installed to provide real-time scoring and other fun features. Imagineers didn’t forget about those sometimes tough to use blasters either. The blasters have gotten a redesign allowing for Star Command guests to better hold the blaster itself. And to make sure that you can hit your targets they will come with an always-on laser. Fear not! The lasers will come in two different colors, so you know which laser is yours. Vibrations and sound will also help you to reach Galactic Hero status!
Finally, the targets themselves will be upgraded too. They’ll now light up and react when hit so you know you’d hit your mark.
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin will temporarily close this August and reopen sometime in 2026.

We all have those friends that want to skip out on certain rides. Thank goodness for the WDW Single Rider Options at Walt Disney World. Most of the time, these lines can get you on and off rides quickly and off to your next park experience. Surprisingly, Single Rider Options have not previously been published on the Walt Disney World website, wait time boards in the park, or on the My Disney Experience App. Park goers can now plan ahead by using the website, park boards and My Disney Experience App to find which parks and rides are offering Single Rider Options. No word yet on if wait times will also be available in the app, but at least we know which rides are offering solo traveler lines.

Visitors to Disney Springs now have a fresh option to kick start their mornings. Summer House on the Lake has introduced a grab and go breakfast menu featuring five delectable items. Guests can indulge in a variety of offerings including a warm Summer House Cinnamon Roll drizzled with vanilla glaze, a savory Breakfast Taco or a classic Bacon, Egg, and Cheese sandwich. For guests who prefer a lighter option they also have Fresh Fruit selections and a Yogurt & Granola Parfait layered with berries and Greek yogurt. This addition provides early visitors with more variety, complementing existing breakfast spots such as Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew and Earl of Sandwich.

Redesigned holes will have you feeling 'Happy' about 'Grumpy'.

Disney's Magnolia Golf Course has been designed to allow golfers to tee off with a bit of Disney magic in mind. The 18-hole course has four holes that, while beautiful, may having you feeling grumpy about your golf game. Holes 14 - 17 have affectionately been named "Grumpy's Gauntlet" as these holes tend to test your nerves and skills. These lush fairways have been recently redesigned with some new challenges and are not for the bashful golfers. Hole 15 is 597 yards and number 17 is a par 3 with 200 yards.

Hole 6 is known as "The Mouse Trap" as it features Walt's famous quote, "I Hope we never lose sight of one thing, that it was all started by a mouse." A new game room experience is coming soon!

The Swan and Dolphin at Walt Disney World just announced a new “innovative game room experience” coming to their resort. Lagoon is taking the space of the former Picabu restaurant and promises interactive gaming for all ages. There’s also 4 lane bowling alley along with some of our favorite games like skee ball and air hockey. Along with gaming you’ll also be able to grab food and drinks. The Lagoon will be open from 11am to 11pm. There’ currently no word on when it is opening but we’ll be sure to bring you that update.

This is a large shopping, restaurant, and entertainment centre which is located a short drive from the Parks.

This area has had several names and rebranding.

It opened in 1975 as Lake Buena Vista Shopping Village. In 1977, it became Walt Disney World Village. 1989 saw it renamed Disney Village Marketplace. In 1997, it became Downtown Disney.

Since 2015, we have known it as Disney Springs, complete with a "spring-fed" creek flowing through the location.

Do you like visiting Disney Springs? Which is your whicn store? Favorite restaurant?

How about entertainment? Have you been to Cirque du Soleil? Have you watched any of the live entertainment presented at the Waterside Stage?

Opa! Enjoy Greek flavors this weekend at The Basket at Wine Bar George!

Head on over to The Basket At Wine Bar George at Disney Springs this weekend to enjoy some authentic Greek foods. On the menu are gyros, house made baklava, spanakopita, Greek fries, and more delicious food. They are also featuring The Frouzo, a frozen ouzo-based cocktail along with other curated Greek wines.

Grand Floridian Renovations Start Next Month
Guests with upcoming stays were notified via email this week.

The Grand Floridian has been undergoing renovations for the last year and those renovations have now moved to the lobby. Renovations will begin shortly after the Easter Egg displays have been removed and will continue through November 2025. The convention center will also be undergoing renovations during this time frame too. Disney has given no indication on what type of changes will be made.

Disney’s released the following statement:
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will be receiving enhancements to select areas in phases, including the lobby and convention center, from April through November 2025. Guests may see and hear construction during daytime hours, and portions of the lobby will be closed at times. All pools and most resort dining and other amenities will remain available. Please allow extra time for travel, as path adjustments may be in place.

We’re hoping they wrap up in time for the famous Gingerbread House display for the holiday season!
